Week of July 31st

This week I'm staying on the light side.  I have made all of these recipes before (versus last week) and they are classics in our home.  I hope you try and enjoy some of the them!  Please let me know what you think via the comments section.  Thanks.

Mussels with Tomatoes, Garlic, Olive Oil, and Wine

I use the recipe from Patricia Wells, Bistro Cooking, but I found a very similar recipe on-line from http://cowgirlchef.com/2010/03/30/moules-a-la-provencale (see below)

Curried Chicken Salad

Ina Garten, Barefoot Contessa Family Style.  The recipe is available on Food Network's site:  http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/curried-chicken-salad-recipe/index.html

Panzanella

There are lots of options out there.  I'm going to make Ina Garten's available on Foot Network's site:

Baked Pancakes with Spinach, Mushrooms and Gruyere

This one is pretty labor intensive but really delicious and worth the effort.  It's a recipe by Raymond Blanc and you can find it on his website:  http://www.raymondblanc.com/recipes/baked-pancakes-with-spinach-cream-gruyère.aspx

Mostly Vegetarian Week

Welcome to my first post!  Thank you for stopping by.  With all the heat here in the New York City area (where we live), I have decided to opt for mostly vegetarian options for our next five dinners.  You'll see that I mainly plan just for Sunday-Thursday and leave Friday and Saturday open for my husband to decide.  He likes to grill on the Summer weekends and have some input on those meals.

The format will be to list each day's dinner menu then cite the recipe's creator and where you can find it (since most recipes have a copyright).

Here we go with the menu for the week of July 24, 2011.
